General Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

The Journey offers the following services: Individualised Support Plans (Support Work), Resource Development and Private Nanny Care.

How are the nannies regulated?

We provide internal training before our nannies begin working with any of our families. We also cross-check all of their certifications, checks and references, and all of our nannies have agreed to conduct themselves in accordance with our standard of practice. We also require a minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children as a nanny.

What is an Individualised Support Plan?

Individualised Support Plans provide high-quality care for your child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), another neurodevelopment disorder or general behavioural challenges. For more information regarding our Individualised Support Plan service, please click here.

What qualifications do the support workers have?

All of our support workers hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC), First Aid and CPR Training Certificate, NSW Child Protection Training Certificate and NSW Police Check.

All support workers also obtain or are working towards tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Counselling, Occupational Therapy or another related field.

Additionally, all of our support workers are exclusively trained by our Director and are provided with internal theoretical and practical training. Training is provided each time a support worker meets a new family. Ongoing check-ins and reviews are also conducted to make necessary updates and changes to your support plan.

Can my child's NDIS funding cover the costs of an Individualised Support Plan?

Unfortunately, your NDIS funding does not cover the costs of any of our services here at The Journey Au. The Journey Au is a private, independent service provider that operates separately from the NDIS or any government bodies for that matter.

We are working on this though! If you pop in your email below and join our mailing list, you'll be the first to know of any exciting changes!
